The Speak Up Research Project for Digital Learning provides an easy and efficient way for your students, parents, educators and community members to inform your local planning and decision-making about technology, as well as contribute to the state and national dialogue about educational technology. Speak Up is open for input each fall from mid-October through the end of January. As the primary contact for your district, school or organization, we would like you to actively promote and encourage your stakeholders to participate in the online data collection process at your selected organizational level. We are here to help you with those activities by providing you with templates and samples that you can repurpose and use in your community. In return for your help with promotion, you will receive from Project Tomorrow free, online access to all aggregated data results from your local stakeholders (i.e., students, teachers, parents) with state and national comparative data. Depending upon when your stakeholders participate, you can have your local data results as early as the first week of January.
Once you register, you will have the choice to use the annual Speak Up tools and/or the new Snapshot tools (for evaluating mobile learning initiatives and/or for gathering feedback to inform your professional learning plans.)
Note: Primary contact profiles need to be renewed each year to activate your organization for the current year’s data collection process.
District: Access to all school profiles and data results collected within the district. Will only need to assign one contact for the district, school contacts are optional. Manages the data collection process for all schools within the district with the ability to edit all school profiles. The district assigned administrative password will work for all schools within that district to access individual school data reports as well the overall district report that combines all data collected from the district into one report.
School: Access to an individual school site profile and school data results. Allows school level contacts to manage their school information. An individual can register their school separate from the district’s registration through the registration process or if the district has already registered, the school can contact the district’s primary contact to assign a school contact through their district profile. Note: the district password will work in addition to the school level password to access school reports.
Private School: Access to individual school profile to manage the data collection process and results. If you would like to group a set of private schools to receive a grouped dataset much like the district level reports, please contact the Speak Up Team at email@example.com.
Nonprofit organization or afterschool provider: Please contact the Speak Up Team at firstname.lastname@example.org to help set up your registration.
International school: Access to your individual school profile to manage the online data collection process and results, please contact the Speak Up Team to add your school into our system. If you would like to group a set of schools to receive a grouped dataset much like the district level reports, please contact the Speak Up Team at email@example.com.
The Speak Up Promotional materials page (https://www.tomorrow.org/speakup/promo.html) offers convenient tools for helping make Speak Up a success in your school or district. You can find promotional flyers for posting at each school, informational flyers for your stakeholders, lesson plans for teachers, a banner ad to place on your website, sample emails, tweets and blog posts for encouraging participation and more. Materials will be updated each fall.
