PROJECT TOMORROW ANNOUNCES THE FORMATION OF SPEAK UP NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
Council will help shape the future direction of Speak Up surveys
Irvine, CA, August 24, 2022.
Dr. Julie A. Evans, Project Tomorrow CEO, announced today the formation of the new Speak Up National Advisory Council. Project Tomorrow , a national education nonprofit organization, is best known for its heralded Speak Up Research Project which annually collects and reports on the authentic views of K-12 students, parents and educators on key education issues including digital learning,
“The formation of the Council coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Speak Up surveys. As we look ahead, we want to celebrate our past achievements and ensure the relevance and utility of Speak Up in the coming years. “Dr. Evans noted. “We are thrilled to have the involvement and commitment of such distinguished leaders and know that their unique insights and perspectives will be of significant benefit in guiding Speak Up as we plan for the future.”
Composed of nationally recognized education leaders affiliated with key education associations and organizations, the Council will offer recommendations for the annual Speak Up surveys, provide advice on effective communications with stakeholders and share relevant information that impacts the surveys.
The Council plans to meet four times a year with the first meeting scheduled for August 24. Currently, the Council includes the following national leaders:

Speak Up is scheduled to release the results of its 2021-22 surveys at a virtual Congressional briefing set for October 13, 2022, and officially launch Speak Up 2022-23 on that same day.

Project Tomorrow’s nonprofit mission is to support the effective implementation of research-based learning experiences for students in K-12 schools. Project Tomorrow is particularly interested in the role of digital tools, content, and resources in supporting students’ development of college and career ready skills. The organization’s landmark research is the Speak Up Research Project which annually polls K-12 students, parents, educators, and community members about the impact of technology resources on learning experiences both in school and out of school, and represents the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder voice on digital learning. Since 2003, over 6.2 million K-12 students, parents, teachers, librarians, principals, technology leaders, district administrators and members of the community have shared their views and ideas through the Speak Up Project. The Speak Up Research findings are used regularly used to inform local, state and national policy decisions on education fundings and programs.
