Project Tomorrow (www.tomorrow.org) is a national education nonprofit organization based in Irvine CA.  We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a part-time Project Coordinator.

The vision of Project Tomorrow is to ensure that today’s students are well prepared to be tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and engaged citizens of the world.  We approach our mission through national research projects, online tools and resources for students, teachers and parents, and national and regional advocacy efforts.

Project Tomorrow conducts several different kinds of research projects within both the K-12 and higher education environments. The Project Coordinator works closely with the Project Tomorrow management staff, research team, our clients and other partners in the implementation process of these projects.    

The primary responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Administrative support for project operations and logistics
  • Developing and implementing the administrative management of the projects including document management, project timelines and communications processes
  • Coordinating resources to support the projects including; creating status reports and other client deliverables on the projects and organizing project meetings or site visits
  • Collecting timely information from the projects and managing the data collection efforts mandated by the research plans 
  • Assistance with data entry and analysis of research data results, including the development of multiple levels of specificity in reports (creation of infographics, data fact sheets)
  • Extensive online research for support and prospective clients within projects
  • Management of customer support inquires
  • Maintain and develop relationships with project participants, client schools, districts and nonprofit partners
  • Administration and Assistance with social media presence on various social media channels; develops informative and engaging content; creates social graphics and images
  • Writes engaging and informative copy for social media, digital platforms, blog, and other advertising, informational, and instructional pieces with considerable professional skill
  • Assists with design development and creation of digital communications campaigns; manages campaign implementation, including working with both internal and external stakeholders to maximize audience engagement
  • Assists with marketing projects such as the creation of e-blasts, newsletters, blog posts, and other marketing items
  • Assists staff to create and manage outreach efforts to new and existing contacts for project participation, webinars, conference sessions and other special events that encourages prospective participants to take action
  • Assist in the creation of email templates to be sent to event attendees whose email addresses were collected
  • Track event outreach metrics (i.e. event attendance, volume of collateral distributed, number of quality conversations had) for internal/external reporting purposes
  • Create new ways and means of reaching prospective schools, districts and education related organizations and maintains contact and relationship with such
  • Other duties as assigned

Programming

We are seeking to interview strong candidates for this position with the following qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience with administrative, customer service or program coordination responsibilities
  • Enrolled in an education institute, while pursuing higher education
  • Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree, or degree in progress, in a related field is preferred. High School or Community College degree
  •  A positive attitude and enthusiasm for our mission
  • Ability to get along with a variety of colleagues, both in the Irvine office and virtually
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a high production atmosphere
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work closely with all kinds of different people — a positive team player, able to recognize when people need help and willing to jump in when needed
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written 
  • Excellent personal and professional references
  • Extensive work experience with doing online research to support programs
  • Mature decision-making capabilities
  • Strong technology skills including fluency with Microsoft Office applications/social networking tools

Desired qualifications:

  • Nonprofit work experience
  • Familiarity with K-12 schools and education issues around science, math and technology
  • Experience with infographics, graphic design
  • Experience managing social media brands, with ability to produce multimedia and interactive content
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Adobe creative suite, Excel, WordPress, Salesforce and/or social media advertising
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and Salesforce a plus
  • Familiarity with Google platforms (preferred)
  • Familiarity with K-12 schools and education issues around science, math and technology
  • Spanish speaker is a plus
