Trends in Digital Learning: Students’ Views on Innovative Classroom Modelshighlights the latest Speak Up data with a particular focus on understanding the student perspective on the impact and benefits of innovative classroom models that are effectively leveraging technology. As a focused case point, this report examines the experiences of students who are in virtual schools or who have taken an online class in addition to their traditional face-to-face instruction.
Since 2007, Project Tomorrow has partnered with Blackboard Inc. to create a series of annual reports that focus on the year-to-year trends in the use of digital learning tools to change the classroom learning paradigm through an in-depth analysis of the latest Speak Up national findings. In this latest update report, we examine the trends from our analysis of the Speak Up data collected in fall 2013. More than 403,000 K-12 students, parents, educators, and community members participated in Speak Up 2013, and their insights of students, particularly on online learning, are the impetus for this year’s trends report.
