Cutting into Wood
baseboards and wooden paneling provide sturdy support for
boxes. Bore starter holes at each corner of the outline.
Bore a second set of holes for the ears at the top and
bottom of the box. Cut from hole to hole with a keyhole
saw or jigsaw. If
you use a keyhole saw, make short strokes so you don't
jab the tip of the saw into the other side of the wall.
Install a remodel box with
flanges, like the one shown. Fasten the flanges to the
baseboard with No. 6 wood screws.
